Pastor Asa and Suz
Pastor Asa and his sweet wife, Suz, thought Fort McMurray was so awesome that they decided to move all the way from Ohio after the wildfire in 2016. They have a heart to see young people become godly leaders in this world. Asa and Suz both love a good cup of coffee, board games, and exploring world cultures through books, music, and travel. In the past year they’ve visited London, England, the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, and Singapore, where Asa’s mom grew up. On Sunday morning Asa leads worship and occasionally preaches. They have recently welcomed their first child, Ezra, into the world, so Suz is busy at home!
Josh and Sally Samuel
Born and raised in Fort McMurray, Sally has been a part of the North-Life family her whole life. Josh moved here in 2011, and soon met his best friend and partner-in-crime. They were married in 2017 and are enjoying exploring their faith and life together.
Josh is a bit of a recluse, but he loves the Lord and enjoys seeing God’s work across different nations and people. While he has far more interests than he has time, his current endeavors include studying Japanese and learning how to become a grill sergeant on the BBQ. He counts C.S.Lewis and G.K.Chesterton as his greatest Christian influences and mentors in faith. Altogether, Josh loves the students at NorthLife Church and has great hopes for them; he aims to listen more, speak less and be a positive influence in their lives.
When Sally isn’t reading to, tutoring, or making art with kids at the public library, she loves baking, snacking, watching documentaries and traveling as much as she can, with her utterly wonderful husband. Sally loves the awesome students and leaders at NorthLife Youth and desires for all of them to grow in their faith, knowledge and love for the Lord as she grows alongside them.
Emmanuel moved to Fort McMurray in 2010. He enjoys snowboarding in winter and biking in the summer. He likes to hang out playing board games and enjoys a good cup of coffee with some dessert. He wants to see the church grow as a community of believers. He enjoys taking part in fellowship and watching Christ change people’s lives.
